My therapy experience as a psychologist
- Private practitioner
I have gained a broad experience through treating individual adolescent and adult clients in private practice. I treat clients with a wide range of issues and have both short and long courses, depending on what people come to me with. I enjoy this work of meeting and helping people and make a big effort to make my clients feel comfortable working with me. - Psychologist in the Interdisciplinary Pain Team
Psychological assessment and treatment of chronic pain patients in order to increase quality of life, promote resource management and support acceptance of the limitations caused by pain. Training groups in pain management and training and supervision of newly hired psychologists. - Family therapist at Familie & Evidens Center
I have been treating families with a young person in behavioral problems in this private company, where I went out to different municipalities in the country and worked with families referred by caseworkers. These were families with a young person with behavioral problems, and the treatment was about getting the whole family to work together to solve the problems. One program lasted 3-6 months and was intensive for both family and therapist, but we had great success with the intervention. FFT is an evidence-based treatment that is among the most effective for this target group of families with an out-of-control adolescent.
- Psychologist in psychiatry
As a psychological therapist in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in Region Zealand, I was employed in the Clinic for Eating Disorders. Here we provided outpatient treatment for adolescent and adult patients with severe eating disorders and self-harm. Many were also diagnosed with borderline or other personality disorders. I provided individual, group and family therapy. - Counselor at the Danish Cancer Society
